I make changes in the kitchen probably more than in any other rooms in the entire house! I go through phases where I put a lot in the space… then decide to simplify and change it all up. Then find new stuff and fill it all up again!
Here is one of the few shots I got of the kitchen before. See the rest of my home before I moved in here.
And here it is after…ta-da!
The openness of the kitchen and dining room is one of the reasons I adore this house – I love being able to entertain guests in all the space! And all the natural light is amazing!
The chalkboard door was one of few, few DIY projects I’ve ever pulled off! It’s such a fun space to leave notes or jot seasonal quotes and makes an otherwise boring door interesting!
Okay and who doesn’t love fresh flowers? In a perfect world, I’d always have some sitting on the breakfast bar or stove top BUT in reality, I usually only think to grab some when I’m entertaining!
The bar cart was a Christmas gift from my sweet parents after I swooned over it at the store for months. It perfectly fills an awkward space between the kitchen and living room. Plus it makes a great focal point coming down the hallway from the bedrooms.
The kitchen was already renovated when I moved in, so I haven’t made any big changes here yet. But, I would like to eventually add a backsplash and possibly paint the walls and maybe the cabinets too. And add some decor to the top of the cabinets to draw your eye up – I think it always makes a space feel larger.
What do you think? What room in your home do you change around the most?
Stay tuned –
